What began in 1979 as an idea for a busy mother to stay home
with her growing family, has become one of Oak Harbor's longest running
and most successful small businesses. Berg Tax and Financial Services
began at Bob and Harriet's dining room table. A dozen years later, the
business expanded into a suite of offices at the Cascade Place Office
Building. In 1993, Harriet earned the title of Enrolled Agent, a status
that allows her to represent clients before the IRS. In 2002 Berg Tax
and Financial Services evolved into Berg & Associates Tax and Financial
Services when Dale Williams became owner of the firm.
As a tax and accounting office providing a full range of services, Berg
& Associates Tax and Financial Services can help meet the needs of the
individual taxpayer as well as the established small business or
corporation. A staff of three accountants/tax professionals share a
combined experience of more than 60 years. Harriet and Jeff are also
securities licensed with Terra Securities Corporation to help you grow
what you have worked so hard to earn.
One of the trademarks of Berg & Associates Tax and Financial Services is
our systematic and personalized client interview which focuses on each
client's unique needs. An interview where first we listen to our
client's needs and concerns; secondly, we ask questions designed to save
you money, and insure compliance with the IRS. This personalized
inverview allows us to probe beyond final figures into the evolving
process of tax planning. Decreasing our client's tax liability within
legal boundaries is a primary goal. Berg & Associates Tax and Financial

In our work with businesses, one of Harriet's specialties is counseling.
Forethought is given to determining the best tax structure for the
client's business needs. Time spent explaining the pros and cons of
other business considerations is a critical part of each interview. Dale
supplements Harriet's organizational, tax expertise and consulting
skills, and Jeff and Sharon's tax skills and experience, by applying
skills learned in over 30 years of investment and Corporate forward
planning expertise. We build on what your business has done in the past,
